Role Guide

Admin

Platform-level role that creates campuses, creates Assistant accounts and can view campus-level structure.

Assistant / Campus Admin

Completes campus setup, manages users, events, announcements, logs, premium plans and campus operations.

Teacher

Runs attendance, manages classes, assignments, resources, grading, announcements and academic communication.

Student

Uses attendance scan, stats, assignments, resources, timetable, chat, study planner and responsible attendance awareness tools.

HOD

Teacher with HOD capability, including HOD Command Center, timetable control and department intelligence views.

01

Students and teachers

Log in using assigned email and unique username/access key created by the Assistant/Campus Admin.

02

Assistant / Campus Admin

Assistant accounts are created by the platform Admin, then the Assistant completes campus setup and manages campus users.

03

Admin

Admin owns platform-level controls such as campus creation, Assistant creation and campus-level visibility.

C

Assistant First-Time Campus Setup

After the Admin creates the Assistant account, the Assistant completes campus setup during first-time configuration. This setup allows real campus workflows to work correctly across attendance, users, timetable and role-based access.

Core Workflow Guides

Attendance Flow

  • Teacher starts attendance and selects subject, semester, section, students and mode.
  • QR/token attendance window stays active for 5 minutes.
  • In v2.4, the same teacher and subject can open a new attendance window again after a 60-minute cooldown.
  • Online mode uses QR verification without location/Wi-Fi restriction.
  • Offline mode validates geolocation and campus Wi-Fi BSSID when configured.
  • Remaining students can be finalized as absent, and teacher edits are stored in logs.

Student Face Verification

  • Students complete face setup during first login.
  • Student face verification is required during login, not on every page reload.
  • Attendance scan stays fast because the QR window is time-limited.
  • Fresh login, session reset or unusual app restart may require verification again.

Assignment Flow

  • Teacher creates assignments with deadline, marks, rubric and typed questions.
  • Draft assignments can be edited until published or before the first student submission.
  • Students submit PDF or written answers.
  • Teacher reviews, checks AI-generated content estimate, assigns marks and gives voice or written feedback.
  • Checked PDF can include digital signature/stamp before the student views feedback.

Resources + AI Predictor

  • Teachers upload notes, PYQs, pictures and study material.
  • System stores title, description and AI-generated summary with the resource.
  • Students browse resources with filters and AI summary support.
  • AI Predictor can analyze notes/PYQs for important questions, likely paper direction and study insights.

Campus Chat

  • Real-time campus chat supports direct messages, groups, attachments, reactions, pins, typing indicators and read receipts.
  • Supported conversations include student-student, student-teacher, teacher-teacher, assistant-teacher and assistant-admin flows.
  • In v2.4, the student chat page sidebar behavior on mobile was improved with fold/collapse behavior so the chat section remains accessible.
  • Chat requires secure key initialization, so a user must open chat before another user can start an encrypted conversation with them.
  • Future improvements can add AI moderation, deeper server-side identity enforcement and institution-specific policies.

Timetable + Events

  • HOD manages semester and section-wise timetable with breaks, lunch and custom period timings.
  • Conflict detection helps avoid timetable clashes.
  • Student and teacher dashboards show today’s classes.
  • Assistant creates events; exams are handled as an event type and appear for students/teachers.

F

Circle of Care, Support Center and Risk Detection

Classify AI already includes a Circle of Care PoC direction, Support Center workflows, risk detection logic and a multi-campus deployment model. These capabilities support early follow-up and communication workflows, while institution-level rollout and production hardening can continue depending on deployment needs.

This PoC focuses on early support and communication workflows. It does not automate legal, visa or disciplinary decisions.

I

Known Notes and Deployment Requirements

  • Internet connection is required because the desktop and mobile testing builds connect to the Classify AI backend.
  • Campus, users, subjects, sections and Wi-Fi/location data must be configured before real institutional use.
  • Android APK is available as a testing build and should not be described as a final public production APK.
  • The official website is only the public landing, documentation, release notes and download portal.
  • Some modules may need institution-specific configuration before rollout.
  • Production hardening for larger deployments can continue depending on institution scale.
  • Face verification and attendance validation depend on configured student and campus data.
  • Offline attendance accuracy depends on device location permission and campus Wi-Fi BSSID configuration.

J

Technical Architecture

Classify AI uses Next.js App Router, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Prisma, Neon PostgreSQL, Vercel, Tauri, Cloudinary, Pusher, face-api.js and Stripe test mode for premium/payment experimentation. Formspree is used only for the official website contact form, not for the main Classify AI product backend.

Client Apps

Official website portal, Windows desktop app through Tauri and Android APK testing build for mobile validation.

Backend APIs

Role-based application APIs power attendance, assignments, resources, announcements, events, chat, logs and user management.

PostgreSQL Database

Neon PostgreSQL stores campus, users, academic data, attendance records, support cases and activity logs.

Realtime Layer

Pusher-backed communication supports campus chat and realtime activity behavior.

AI & Analytics

face-api.js, AI study tools, resource summaries, HOD insights and risk/support intelligence workflows.

K

Developer Setup Direction

Developer setup documentation is intentionally high-level in public docs. It can describe the stack, local setup direction, environment/database requirements and deployment approach, but it should not expose private credentials, database URLs, admin credentials, production secrets or internal endpoint-level details.

01

Install dependencies

High-level contributor guidance only; private values stay outside public docs.

02

Configure environment safely

High-level contributor guidance only; private values stay outside public docs.

03

Connect database and run Prisma setup direction

High-level contributor guidance only; private values stay outside public docs.

04

Run development build locally

High-level contributor guidance only; private values stay outside public docs.

05

Deploy official website separately

High-level contributor guidance only; private values stay outside public docs.

06

Keep product secrets private

High-level contributor guidance only; private values stay outside public docs.

L

API Reference Direction

Public docs keep the API reference high-level. Role-based APIs power attendance, assignments, resources, announcements, events, chat, logs and user management, but public documentation does not expose internal endpoint details, private route behavior or production credentials.

M

Security and Privacy Notes

  • Role-based access for Admin, Assistant, Teacher, Student and HOD workflows.
  • Campus-configured users and assigned credentials/access keys.
  • Student face verification for login-sensitive student workflows.
  • QR/token attendance with a 5-minute attendance window.
  • Same teacher and subject attendance window controlled through a 60-minute cooldown in v2.4.
  • Offline attendance validation through geolocation and Wi-Fi BSSID when configured.
  • Attendance edit logs visible for accountability.
  • Client-side encrypted chat with secure key initialization.
